I'm no good at mourning, but I'll admit I had a teary morning. Sometimes it's the big things that remind you what you're missing.
But on to happier things ... which was the purpose of this post!
I'm celebrating (as much as you can when you finish baking cookies at 1.45 and get to work at 8!) my birthday today and I'm more excited than usual. I don't like 'getting older' and I'm not keen on being the centre of attention and that's kinda the essence of a birthday ... but this year something's different. Maybe I just accepted that you can't keep a birthday hidden a little earlier this year, maybe I don't mind watching the years pass, maybe I got myself organised this year, maybe I just like birthdays now. We'll see ...
P.S. I've actually got a funny feeling that it's because I'm off to see the folks in a couple of days ... maybe I'm not quite as grown-up as I'd like to think!
